As always the first thing I want to do is wish everyone a wonderful evening. I am also always appreciative of the people reading the blog post here. For me it has been therapeutic; and for those of you reading it has hopefully been informative.
One of the signs of autism is a child's lack of social abilities. This doesn't just necessarily mean the lack of a social calendar because of the lack of friends. Most autistic children appear "different" and "weird" to their peers and therefore do not have many friends. It also means that these children have a hard time expressing their feelings and appear to not have empathy. Many may even believe that an autistic child does not have the ability to love. Well, my Sir Dantes proves that wrong!
it is offical! he is autistic.

Hello everyone!
I hope everyone is having a great night. We have settled in because of all of the snow and ice that has hit our fine state of Tennessee. We had to venture out this morning for Sir Dantes' final evaluation for the Tennessee Early Intervention Program.
We almost canceled due to the impending winter storm, but knowing how hard it is to get the appointments at Vanderbilt, we changed our minds. We had to be there at eight this morning. Luckily we made it home before the 18 car pileup at our usual exit off of the interstate. Whew!

"I don't like pizza!" was what my son said when we told him we were having it for dinner later on that night. "No, I don't like to!" were his words when asked if he wanted to go bowling. Both of those things he said clear as a bell. It was raining all weekend and we were trying to find something he'd like to do. If you watch the second half of this video of him on YouTube you can see how much he enjoyed bowling. I guess that's a thing of the past now. Regardless, he has been saying things lately that we've never heard from him before and it's great! We haven't heard much improvement in his articulation but he is definitely saying new things all of a sudden. Praise God!
movin' on up!

Hello everyone! I hope that your new year is going well so far. We are not that far into it, but things are changing fast for us.
We are moving into a new home!! I am so excited. It is absolutely beautiful and spacious. Finally each of our wonderful children will have their own room and their own bathroom. That will be really nice. I am especially excited about being able to use the bathroom without one of my children just walking in without any warning.
I am sure they will track me down.
